Country: India
Year: 1991
Synopsis: Ahmedabad is a city in Western India. It is one of the wealthiest cities in the country. It is also a city that has seen some of the most violent religious riots in India’s recent history. Taking off from these twin realities, the film uses a set of images repeated twice with variations (images of cows fast food, a swing, traffic) and along with this set of images it lays a voice-track of spoken words, nonsense rhymes that are not so nonsensical, and prose about a writer’s nostalgia at visiting his city after many year’s abroad. (IKF Oberhausen, 1992)
