Tide

Director: Heinz Emigholz    → show biography
Country: West Germany
Year: 1974
Synopsis: The first part of TIDE shows within a duration of 15 minutes the progression from low to high tide. The second part, of equal duration, observes the changes occurring with the shift from high to low tide. The artist created a complex score for the filming, which had to be scripted in precise detail. The result is a multilayered, flowing film story, which presents a linear chronology in a non linear way but instead juxtaposes consecutive events synchronously. Dedicated to Arthur Gordon Pym.
