Synopsis: In ROHFILM fragmented film images, half film strips with perforations and dirt particles are glued onto blank film and reproduced with with different processes. The explosion of image particles causes a physical visual experience. In their films Wilhelm and Birgit Hein examine the processes of reproduction and the primary material nature of the medium. In ‚Rohfilm’ the common film image is destroyed and the film appears as an ‚visual bobardment’ of image fragments, dirt and other trash.“ (Stephen Dwoskin 1975)
